photo class

I happen to be in two photo classes this semester: digital crime scene photography and black and white film. Black and white film seems to take up a HUGE chunk of my time. Every project we shoot three rolls of 36 pictures, develop our rolls, print six perfect pictures and three contact sheets. Not only do I spend a lot of time in the lab developing and printing, but I spend a lot of time shooting pictures. I do enjoy it, but did I stress the HUGE amount of time I have to spend on this class? The current project we have is called "lighting", so rather than finding interesting subject matter, we have to find interesting lighting situations. I had heard of the technique "painting with light" used in crime scenes at night, so i tried it, here are a few of my results. Peace & love, typical Randi.

modern day betty crocker

I like to bake, which is problematic for me, because I also like to eat.

I don't mean eat a bite, I mean eat the whole treat in one sitting so I came up with a solution: give the treats away as soon as they're done.

Thank you snowboarding house for giving me mouths to feed my delicious treats to.

she's just not that into you

AHHH, I feel like i should have written the book "She's just not that into you" and given it to everyone in our (our=roommates) lives. I am tired of needy boys in our lives or hearing about crazies who get obsessed.

Dear boys, please read the book "he's just not that into you" and apply it to yourself, replace 'he' with 'she', and you will understand.


example 1:
Girl A dates boy A for a week and he said "i love you" twice in that week and cried once. ahhhh
take it easy boy A.

example 2:
Girl B dates boy B, and dumped him six months ago and today receives:
actual text conversation
boy: "when is the next time you're coming home"
girl: "I'm not sure why"
boy: "we should hang out"
girl doesn't text back for an hour then says "sorry i am driving, cant text"
boy: "you always ignore me when it gets tough, you avoid the difficult answers. anyways, i believe you and i want to hang out"
girl: "hmmm, well i only want to hang out if its a big group, sorry"
boy: "why do you say that"
girl: "i don't want to hang out with you, especially just you alone, you always freak out and i have zero desire to hang out with you solo"
boy: "I'm upset with you, i really wish you'd forget the negatives, you always single me out"
girl: "you always freak out. you freaked out this morning for me not texting back, you freak out when i don't want to hang out, i have my own friends and don't really care to talk to you"
boy: "you talked to your ex all the time when we were dating, why not me"

oh my gosh, get over it! this has happened MANY times in the past six months and not ONCE in those six months has girl B seen boy B. SHE DOESNT LIKE YOU, TAKE A HINT.

example 3:
girl C dates boy C for a month or so and he suggests a ring, and says "i love you".
ahhhhhh, take it easy boy C!

example 4:
girl D dates boy D for two weeks and boy D gets way too clingy, and suggests if he told girl D how he really felt about her (L-word) she'd be freaked out, girl D dumps boy D.

These may not make much sense to you if you haven't been living with us or hearing the stories but i am so tired of these boys deciding they "love" us in a matter of weeks. No you don't; ahhh.

This is a bit sporadic sorry. I just needed an outlet

I have to listen to fast music, or i have zero motivation to work out.
My favorites are loose control, which i cannot help but full out dance to every time i hear, no matter the social setting, shewolf because i love to howl in the middle of the gym, cant touch this because it makes me giggle, and my newest addition starstukk 30h!3/katy perry version.

Honesty

This week I got served with a slice of honesty, and how refreshing it felt! I hate when people are fake or tell you what they think you want to hear. I like it much better for people to tell me the truth, even if it stings for a moment, so to a certain someone: thank you.

My TOMS came Wednesday and bad news: my "mutant freak" -nicole child-sized feet are too small for size fives. I thought about sending them back for fours or threes, but I'm just going to deal with it. I love them though, I wore them today. :)

TOMS, part II

I just ordered a pair, and I feel pretty great about myself, AND I'm excited to get a pair of new shoes. Really my 41 dollar shoes are only 20.50, because I bought a pair for me, and a pair for one of these little kids, specifically the little girl in the back on the left wearing pink, because she's doing a peace sign. Easiest form of service ever. I suggest you get some and support the project, and because they're so cute!
